ประจวบคีรีขันธ Pratchuap Khiri Khan
continued from: Bang cock vs Bangkock
Jan 10/05
The bus ride from Bangkok to Pratchuap Khiri Khan/Hua Hin was about 4 hours, and we where dropped off in the middle of this small town. we got our bags and headed straight for the beach, there where very few cheap accomidations on the beach, so we just hung out in the sun for awhile and headed back into town to look for something. This hotel has to be the cheapest and most well kept spot so far on our trip...and the owners are great. I am so glad to be out of the city chaos...
We got a room, dropped off our bags walked 7 km down the beach to a temple on top of a hill.
At the bottom of the hill, we saw a swarm of monkeys just wandering about...doing thier own thing. So we stopped by the pond with this huge monkey statue and fed them peanuts.
The climb up to the top of the hill was agony with the heat...and there where allot of sketchy monkeys hounding us for more peanuts. The view was amazing and there where was bareley anyone up there.
We decided to take the alternate rout to get back down, wich involved climbing down steep sharp rocks while holding onto poorly attatched rope (no stairs like on the way up). It was'nt too bad til we reached the bottom where we had to climb straight down, hang from the roap and jump. I ripped my pants on a sharp rock in the process.
Beer is my middle name...so that and the sunset was all we needed to finish off the night...and we did.
Next destination: the town of Chumphon, after that, we are off to the island of Koh Tao. Diving and snorkeling, booz and partying please...
