Edmonton

I woke up yesterday and made breakfast....a piece of toast and half a bottle of wine...and 2 hours of 24.... lame..but hey, i had to start the first of my 5 days off somewhere. I soon reallized how quickly the time passed....it was now close to 2:00 pm and we where supposed to leave for Edmonton an hour ago....Kandy's alarm did'nt go off, and i was too busy watching my show to notice. I woke her up, then Amanda and Chris met us at the house. I think we left around 3:30. we made a couple stops on the way for fast food and gas in Airdrie...and the most important stop in Red Deer, for booz.... as soon as we got back in the car i started pooring the rum into my huge cup of coke before we hit the highway again...obviously, for some reason i had an extreme urge to indulge in as much liquor as possible today.

The rain started to come down in buckets as we where going through red deer and onto the highway, Kandice said the word fuck about 50 times in 30 minutes due to lack of visibility from the rain...and everytime we would pass a semi truck we could'nt see within 3 feet ahead of us. I started to relax after polishing off almost the whole drink and was at the point where everytime i reached for the cup...kandy would slap my hand and tell me ''NO''.
The clouds where looking awsome so i started taking pictures with my phone. There was thunder and lightning for a good hour and i was watching intently for a big flash...we where listening to Matt Good the whole way there... and Born to kill was playing, when right in the middle of the song at a pause moment a huge flash of lightning followed by a crash of thunder so loud that shook the entire car...it felt like it came from directly above us.....that was wicked. We started to come out of the storm and it cleared up as soon as we made our way through Edmonton.

Walking through the Klondike days carnival was the biggest Gong show i've ever seen.....i felt like i was walking through an episode of trailer park boys or something. So we picked up some evil mini doughnuts, dodged our way over to the Telus stage and had a good hour to kill before the show started. We bought some beer and sat on the bleechers for a bit...then the rain started again. Kandice and i ran back to the car for her coat...and when we came back there was a huge line up of people trying to get in. Kandy shoved her way to the front and told the guard that we where already in there and showed him our beer wristbands...the asshole was'nt going to let us...or anyone else in there. "We have beers and our friends are in there fuck face" she yelled. our only option at this point was to go to the other side over the fence...and so we did. we weren't the only ones doing this by the way. 10 minutes later the show started. finally...we ran up to the stage and i squeezed my way in to the front row.

The whole show was amazing!! Near Fantastica was the first song Avalanche, Advertizing on police cars, Blue skies over badlands and Apparitons where my favorites that he sang near the end. Allot of good stuff was played...i dont remember all of them...i was just soo ecxited to hear more then 2 of my favorites. Chris said of all the shows he had been to...this one was the best, i beleived him...it was a VERY good show!

Before we left Amanda and i went on one of the rides. we went for the one with the shortest line up. Just as the ride started...the fireworks went off...good timing.

I dont remember a whole hell of allot after that...i passed out in the back seat of the car. Amanda is my Hero... i think she got us home in that shit wheather in less than 2 hours...good job!

We are off to B.C. now, through Kananaskis. we're going to drive out as far as we can tonite and camp somewhere along the way...i don't care where we go...as long as we end up very far away from the city!

There'd only be weather on the news....

This weekend feels very long at work. more so than all of the stampede days combined...sooo glad that's over...it has'nt been this busy in a long time. I did get promoted yesterday though...oohh yes....moving up in this industry i am...this is good.
I'm looking foreward to next weekend....5 days off, woooohoo for me! Thursday mostly....to see Matt Good. Holy shit...i have been listening to allot of him lateley. I'm addicted to 'Advertizing on police cars', 'Blue skies over badlands' and 'While we where hunting rabbits' ...to name a few. Check out his music blog if you want to hear some more goodins. This will be my first time seeing him play live...happy is I!

I am going to see about going to Burning Man festival in Nevada next month. I know a few people who have been to it....from what i hear, it sounds like something i would'nt want to miss....a road trip through the desert...yesss! always wanted to do that, and being the artsy type i am...i know would love this kind of festival. I really want to go but money has to be nice to me for a change....

I miss backpacking...here's hoping i can do that again someday soon. Posting jurnal entries from my last trip keeps me motivated, and every time i make a new post...i remember much more than i wrote in the origional jurnal, and i add in some here and there.

Here is another pic of the monkeys that we where feeding peanuts to in Thailand....Jamie took that one, i think it looks like a fricken National Geographic shot...good job.

Jan /05

This morning i woke up early, very early...usually i'm the last one in bed...and the last one out. I needed to wake up and catch the sunsrise this time. I woke Jamie, Ian and Heather up, and we walked down to the beach. There was only one restaurant open so we sat down for some thai rice and seafood. After breakfast we went for a walk down the beach before we decided to catch our train to our next destination.

The beaches on this side are littered with garbage, and if you walk 15 minutes to the other side, they are clean beaches and crystal clear water....its strange. We walked for a good 3 hours or so, and found wierd little creatures and objects washed up on shore along the way.
and there was one thing i saw that i will never forget.

I had decided to walk ahead of everyone to see what i could find first, as i was looking into the distance i saw a large figure of something laying in the sand. I walked faster to get a closer look. I then found myself standing a few feet away from what looked like an animal... when i got up close i reallized that it was a dead dog. I let out
a screetch and almost chucked up my breakfast. It was'nt just the fact that it was a dead dog...but the look on it's face that made me scream, i've really never seen a dead decaying animal before...i cant really describe it. I'm sure that people here and many other places see this kind of thing all the time....sometimes i wonder if there is a bigger population of mangie dogs than people....i mean it is very sad and i know there are organizations that try to controll it...but it almost seems impossible to do. When i see these dogs walking around i always end up thinking about my dog jaada. I've cried like a 3 year old a couple times already. There has been so much happening and here i am crying about seeing a dead dog when there are hundreds of thousands of people whitnessing unimagionable things from the Tsunami that happened only miles away from where we are. I feel for all those people...but i will never know what it is like for them to have to watch so much death and destruction. I do not wish that on anyone.

I have not written the exact day of the date today...honestly i don't know...and neither do my friends, we decided not to ask anyone for awhile after we lost track from being on the road all the time, besides times and dates are'nt important right now...just having a good time on this trip together for the next month and a half...because who knows....some of us might never get the chance to come here again.
We will be leaving from Chumpon on a ferry to the island of Koh Tao in the next couple days.......on to the next one.

Maybe when i'm 80...

Last night Jamie asked what i would like to do for my b-day.... i said it did'nt matter...as long as i can drink booz for 3 days straight. We talked about a few things that we already had planned....and then he suggested Skydiving...it gave me instant shivers. Of course this is something we had discussed in the past...and we've always wanted to do it....but for some reason this time i had a better visual in my head of looking down from a perfectly good airplane having to jump out of it... Don't get me wrong i still might do it, that seems way too soon, he wants to see if we can take the course like starting next week....gulp, ya he was seriouse. Or...maybe i'll whait til i'm 80 and do it then.

Granny looked like she had fun doing it...

Make the snow fall up from underneath your feet....

The Past few days of HOT ass wheather we've had here have been nice, but almost unberable with the job i'm doing....when i saw the huge dark cloud coming our way, it put an evil little grin on my face... yess, cool it down now. to think i almost took up a landscaping job this year. working indoors and busting ass with a shitty old air conditioning system...lots of fun...
Sometimes i wish i was sitting inside an office building working on a computer all day...i assume they have good air conditioning.....fockers! But then again i would probably end up frustrated sitting in a chair all day...i have to be moving most of the time...its my excuse for a workout, i like to save lazy time for when i go home and watch my addictive tv series.
No weekends off for me during stampede...so sad. only 5 more days to go and that will be over. And then by the 27th i got me 5 days off for my birthday. Edmonton for klondike days..Matt good is playing, after that maybe we'll go up to the ranch and party. I wonder if i will go to the peelers for my 24th...Or maybe i won't do a damn thing...i don't care, as long as i know i have those 5 days off...i'm happy. At least i have something to look foreward to...5 days off is a fucking large vacation for me right now.

Tony and Kandy went rafting today...of course i'm sad i missed the adventures of rafting once again...poor me...i think i'll go cry myself a river and float in that...

The best song in the universe...

There must be some kind of way out of here
Said joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no releif
Buisnessmen, they drink my wine
Plow men dig my earth
None will level on the line
Nobody of it is worth

No reason to get exited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But you and i we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now
The hour is getting late

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Bare-foot servants too
Outside in the cold distance
A wild cat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl
The theif he take My money take
Am i insane
The theif is safe

No reason to get exited.

ประจวบคีรีขันธ Pratchuap Khiri Khan

continued from: Bang cock vs Bangkock

Jan 10/05

The bus ride from Bangkok to Pratchuap Khiri Khan/Hua Hin was about 4 hours, and we where dropped off in the middle of this small town. we got our bags and headed straight for the beach, there where very few cheap accomidations on the beach, so we just hung out in the sun for awhile and headed back into town to look for something. This hotel has to be the cheapest and most well kept spot so far on our trip...and the owners are great. I am so glad to be out of the city chaos...

We got a room, dropped off our bags walked 7 km down the beach to a temple on top of a hill.
At the bottom of the hill, we saw a swarm of monkeys just wandering about...doing thier own thing. So we stopped by the pond with this huge monkey statue and fed them peanuts.

The climb up to the top of the hill was agony with the heat...and there where allot of sketchy monkeys hounding us for more peanuts. The view was amazing and there where was bareley anyone up there. We decided to take the alternate rout to get back down, wich involved climbing down steep sharp rocks while holding onto poorly attatched rope (no stairs like on the way up). It was'nt too bad til we reached the bottom where we had to climb straight down, hang from the roap and jump. I ripped my pants on a sharp rock in the process.

Beer is my middle name...so that and the sunset was all we needed to finish off the night...and we did.
Next destination: the town of Chumphon, after that, we are off to the island of Koh Tao. Diving and snorkeling, booz and partying please...

I killed em Gilbert.....

You Are Gilbert From "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"

You are very giving and self-sacrificing. You're always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. However, this generous nature often robs you of fulfilling your needs and desires, and may cause you to become resentful. Find a way to balance your kindness with your independence.

Canada day

Last night was a complete blur...but from what i remember and from what i was told...twas good times! Audioerotica played at the infamous Thirsty Dog pub...another wicked show! I do remember beez calling me to come up and play the Djembe on stage, and when i started to play the band kinda went with my beat...i think i fucked it up in the end...not sure how good it sounded....lots of fun nonetheless. Jess took some pics if you wanna check that out. We danced till it was all over, we almost forgot to pay the waitress before we left...YA, we really where drunk...i was almost at the point of no return...and i think i fell down a couple times...

I was just watching the Live 8 concert on tv and saw JayZ singing Big pimpin with Linkin Park...hmm interesting combo...some good singers up there for sure tho.
Kandy is making eggs benny right now....i should probably eat before i pass out.
I hope everyone has a fantabulous long weekend! xoxoxo
